Ending the presentations and 2022, Opera has another gift for users of the game-oriented web browser Opera GX – a new green theme cleverly hidden in the code.
Opera GX users can enable this new theme by going to opera: // settings and applying the code in the Opera web browser. Below you will find detailed instructions for the exact steps.
The company is no stranger to hiding Easter eggs in its products – the Opera GX mobile app for iOS and Android was able to unlock the “Veggie” Halloween theme in October.
This is not the only feature that has recently been introduced – a new “Aware Mode”. (opens in a new tab)‘ allows Opera users to sharpen videos on most websites, such as YouTube and DailyMotion, with the click of a button.
But let’s not get in the way of a new theme you want to enable – just enter a specific phrase to mark the holidays.
How to enable Evergreen theme
Open Opera GX on your desktop (opens in a new tab) or on iOS (opens in a new tab) and Android (opens in a new tab)next go to easy setupwhich is three lines is located in the upper right corner of the window. This should bring up options like Start Page, Appearance, and Theme.
When this sidebar appears, type Christmas22and the evergreen theme will be enabled and will also be displayed as an option.
It’s that simple and now you have a green Christmas tree theme ready.
Easter eggs are always fun to see in a product – they’re as old as hidden DVD movies, and they’re even mentioned in TV shows like the episode “Blink” in Doctor Who, but watching them on web browsers is very few in between.
Thankfully, the Opera team is more than happy to add a little to their products, and hopefully there will only be more in 2023, ready to be found by almost every holiday.
