Nvidia’s RTX 4070 could arrive sooner than we thought, if a clue in the form of a regulatory filing that just surfaced is something to rely on.
VideoCardz (opens in a new tab) drew attention to a tweet from the usual hardware leaker, @harukaze5719, who drew attention to the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) filing by Inno3D regarding the RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4070 graphics cards.

The name mentioned, Ask Technology Group Limited, is actually the company behind Inno3D, in case you’re wondering, and such EEC filings often come quite early before a product launch.
Now we’re pretty sure the RTX 4070 Ti will be unveiled at CES in just a few weeks and should go on sale shortly after (theoretically January 5). But since the RTX 4070 was submitted alongside the GPU at EEC, does that suggest it might be ready to be unveiled alongside the 4070 Ti? This is definitely a question some people are asking.
Analysis: a promising sign for the RTX 4070
As noted, this clearly underscores that the RTX 4070 Ti is imminent – there is plenty of evidence and leaks surrounding this graphics card right now, including recent leaked photos – but what about the possibility of the RTX 4070 coming along with it?
The simple truth is that there haven’t been that many leaks about the RTX 4070, which would indicate that it probably won’t show up at CES 2023. If that were the case, we’d surely be hearing more about the GPU word of mouth, right?
Well, most likely, but on the other hand, we’ve heard Some rumors about the 4070. (Incidentally, they claim the card could be significantly smaller compared to the 4070 Ti, at least in terms of core count – although that may not be a fair representation of its true performance levels, as we’ll discuss in detail here).
So it’s impossible to imagine the RTX 4070 could take off alongside its faster sibling, or at least follow the 4070 Ti fairly quickly. Given earlier rumors pointing to a March debut, perhaps this regulatory filing is a solid indication that we might see an RTX 4070 in February; maybe end of january?
In short, the RTX 4070 may arrive sooner than previously anticipated, but by no means count on it arriving at CES 2023. The RTX 4070 Ti is highly anticipated at CES, but even strong and abundant rumors are no guarantee as Nvidia may change its mind at the last minute.
